We are doing everything in our power to fight back against COVID-19, check out photo #2 and #3. The Shortest North House is a Columbus Staple. Located in Short North, is only a few blocks from The Arts District on High Street. Our guest will be in walking distance to some of Columbus's favorite bars and restaurants like Standard Hall, Pint House, and Condado. It is also within walking distance to The Ohio State University and the Arena district, home of the Blue Jackets and Express Live.

The space

This house was renovated in 2018. It features new hardwood flooring, granite counter tops, kitchen backsplash, appliances, fencing, and bathroom. Enjoy this perfect private house venue for a short weekend getaway or a long-term stay. No matter what brings you our way, you will be sure to love this house in the heart of it all.

Guest access

Guest will have access to everything in the house. The kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, TV, wifi, yard, basement, laundry machine, all appliances, dining table, seating and more.

A funky shotgun house that’s a microcosm of history, Joe’s place made me speculate what year it was built and what the neighborhood was like back then. Nicely renovated, with a proper, convenient kitchen, a very nice, roomy shower and a Star Trek-bridge-worthy home theater system with all bells and whistles. 6 stars!

Joe was very helpful and resolved our only issue within hours of our arrival. The place was very clean when we arrived. The location is superb. It puts you in walking distant of 3 great breweries and multiple coffee shops. I highly recommend it.

Overall, a pretty decent stay. The location is very close (within 5-10 mins) of most of the major attractions and restaurants downtown, which was a plus for us since I hate driving downtown. We took a Lyft most of the time we went out (out to eat, explore, and a show) and we didn’t have to spend that much or drive/pay to park. It’s also within a block or two (easy to walk even in the cold) from Fox in the Snow, one of our favorite coffee/brunch spots in Columbus. My friend and I only had a few minor issues: the bathroom curtain needed to be replaced and we could’ve used more towels/wash clothes, but we made do. The living room area was cozy and most of the kitchen appliances looked new/newish. The dining table was a little shakey, but it probably just needs to be tightened up. Just a note: if you’re a light sleeper and/or not used to city noises, it might not be the best location for you. It didn’t bother us too much, but the house is near the end of a block/intersection and there was some construction so it was a little loud at times, even at night.

Such a great place for the price! Very easy to find and the garage in the back is awesome to safely park your car. Very clean and spacious. It’s pet friendly which is perfect if you bring your furry friend on adventures with you like I do! There is a brewery across the street that is AWESOME! If you don’t mind walking, there are lots of places to eat/drink in walking distance! The owners responded very quickly to my messages also! I will absolutely stay here next time I come to Columbus!

Location was fantastic and in walking distance to the Short North. I'm sure with more time and effort this will be an outstanding place to rent. We did encounter some cleanliness issues (bathroom trash from a previous guest, filthy blinds in every room, ants at the front door upon arrival) and misinformation we received (towels being provided and only having one when we got there). These issues weren't enough to ruin the trip but in the current state, I don't think I will be returning. Joe was a good host and addressed our issues, even offering a partial refund for our troubles. He was readily available via messaging which was appreciated. Again, I think with time and a little more effort, this will be a fantastic rental.

Joe’s place is in a perfect spot for walking to restaurants and was centrally located to all of the areas we needed to get to in Columbus. The street is busier than I expected, but there are sidewalks everywhere and a small park nearby we could walk through with our dog. Joe was extremely responsive and even accommodated our request for a later check out. I would recommend staying at Joe’s, and I would DEFINITELY recommend visiting Fox in the Snow.

This space is great- it was just me there but I could see it being really nice for a group of people. Beautiful kitchen, plenty of space! The street itself is cute, and it's a quick, safe walk to the super trendy High Street. Wish I'd had some friends with me so we could have a nice dinner/movie night! Don't worry about the warning regarding surrounding noise- it's nothing unusual, unless you're used to a super quiet 'hood.

What you want in an Airbnb. Easy checking with a lockbox, great communication, clean, great location. Not better than hotels - there are no hotels near here. Joe mentions you understand that there may be noise. I sleep through anything but sensitive sleepers should understand that this is the city and the streets have cars. Also, Columbus likes to wake up and get rolling early. Make plans with earplugs or sleep machine if you are worried about regular city sounds. Took a quick jog to the amazing coffee shops on High Street - what a booming part of Columbus this is becoming.

This little house is perfect! The bedroom is heavenly! Super cozy bed! Black out curtains, but plenty of light if they're open! Awesome full length mirror. Spacious shower. Very nice kitchen, with everything you need until you get out and get your specific personal choices. Awesome living room! Great artwork throughout. Beautiful hardwood flooring. Quiet area, simple neighborhood. Pizza next door until 4am! And it's GOOD! Lyft or Uber is fast and close to most event spots. Great hosts!

I had a great stay. I arrived much earlier than I had expected and they were so gracious to let me check in early. The entire place looks like it has recently been upgraded with wood floors and brand new stainless appliances. The shower is huge, and done in tile and stone. Lots of fluffy towels and other amenities. The place was spotless as well. The bed is super comfortable and the neighborhood is really quiet at night. I would definitely stay there again. Five stars

It was a pretty easy booking. The residence is a single family home in a neighborhood that is within walking distance to bars and restaurants. We especially appreciated the autonomy being in a house afforded us. We saved money by cooking a few meals, which staying in hotel wouldn't have allowed for.

We stayed in Columbus, Ohio for a volleyball tournament being held at the Convention Center. The house was perfect for our needs and close to everything we needed. The huge shower with double shower heads was amazing after watching volleyball all day....the bed was very comfortable as well! We enjoyed eating at the local restaurants that were within walking distance, and felt safe walking the neighborhood at night. Joe and Carlos allowed us to check in a little early so we could drop off our bags and head to the convention center. They even left complimentary waters for us on the dining table. The house was sparkling clean and super cute. We had a great stay....thank you!

This is a great place, comfy bed, CLEAN and close to the “hip” end of town with lots to do! Joe is very responsive and helpful. Due to some construction the power went out for a few hours early morning. Joe was very helpful in refunding us for those hours, accommodating an earlier check-in and threw in a Twix we had from the mini-bar on the house for our troubles! Plus there’s great pizza next door! What more could you want!

The top characteristic of this place is the location. A short walk to a ton of dining and drink options on High Street. Worth the stay if you are in for a short visit and looking to take advantage of this convenient access. The home itself is well kept and host was responsive at reservation confirmation, check-in and check-out. You do feel the age of the home. It has a slight slant and looking around the place you can see it is the typical cover up job of a well aged house with fresh tile and heavy paint application. Nothing that would prevent me from staying again just fair to point out that the price point for the home likely reflects this limited updating. The only oddity that I would point out is the owners presentation of a cash snack bar and drink fridge. Picture a news stand offering in the middle of the living space. Understand this attempt at hospitality offering but really struck me more as peculiar more than anything. ***Full disclosure: the view of this setup is likely skewed by the owners multiple challenges of consuming two drinks from cash fridge when I hadn’t. A fact I reiterated multiple times stating that I brought my own six pack of Bells and left three behind in the big fridge.

We were in town for a show at Express Live! The venue was pretty close to this place. The house was very clean and we loved the decor! They had snacks and drinks set up for purchase which was nice. I loved that there was a garage and we didn’t have to pay for parking. There is no door on the bedroom and no ceiling fan in the bedroom, but there are ceiling fans in the living room and dining rooms. Overall, we had a great experience and I would recommend this place. A nice small house in a great location! Easy walk to lots of restaurants, bars, breweries, coffee shops and more! All of Short North at your fingertips! Bring earplugs because Summit is a busy street and can be loud at night. As others have noted there's construction going on nearby and they start early during the week. There's no curtain on the front door window so it gets light in the living room before the bedroom. Nice updates to the kitchen and bathroom. The whole house was very clean and no issues during our trip!

The house is centrally located and convenient if you'll be in the Short North, downtown or OSU campus areas. The accommodations aren't fancy, but cover all your needs. The garage is handy if you're driving in, but it is small. Our large sedan fit, but just barely.

We came for an OSU football game. The location is suburb as our walk to the game was refreshing for a noon game. Had to walk by several bars on the way home and tested their products which were good!. House has a garage so parking is no problem. Remember there is no cable so getting espn was a problem for us. We are not very techy!! But had a great stay and you will love the shower!!

Everything about this home was exactly as described and convenient. Very close to downtown and high street. Lots of good bars and breweries in the area to explore. Nice large double shower head in the bathroom and kitchen was adequate. I don't know if there was a police or fire station nearby but there are lots of sirens at night and construction on the street happened in the morning. We read this in a previous review and brought a sound machine so there were no sleeping issues. Just a heads up. Would definitely stay again.

Close to Schottenstein Center. It was a clean home. The furniture was worn, but appeared to be a work in progress. I believe it was worth the price of the stay and I was able to bring my pups which is always a huge deal. Only suggestion is bring your own snacks and drinks, as the charge for what was available seemed to be on the higher end.

The space is amazing for the price. They also have a garage which comes in really handy with the crazy parking hours Columbus now has. They are pretty responsive, I sent a message at a really odd hour and they got back to me pretty reasonably. The bed is super comfortable and there’s snacks! I love that there is detailed directions that even a newbie can follow, and they don’t pester you for updates or anything annoying. Really good place to stay, and it’s in a great location for walking to see things.

This is an adorable house in the short north. The house is stand alone so there’s very little noise from neighbors. The host was kind enough to call and clarify some parking confusion on my part. No issues whatsoever, I’d definitely stay again!

Joe’s place is close to everything you need in downtown Columbus. We were able to mostly walk bars and restaurants even in the cold. Everything else is a quick Uber away. The house is cozy and clean and most importantly for us, dog friendly.

We have been traveling across country from west coast to flordia and this home met everything we needed. The bed was by far one of the most comfortable beds we have slept in at an air bnb. Not to mention it is dog friendly and he has a fenced in yard in the back with a garage. The parking in front of the house was just as convenient. Did we mention the mini fridge he has!! Snack, and drink selection as well. Very pleased.

The city recently added restricted hours and parking fees on summit, the host wasn’t aware of this change. They will ticket you! There is a garage in the back that can be used if you want to avoid parking fees.

Pretty good, a bit noisy due to construction across the street. Had a little trouble parking our second car, but found a surface lot a short walk away. Heat/cooling was good, and all of the snacks were appreciated. Bed was comfy and overall the place was clean. The bathroom faucet was very loose, and the toilet tank cover had been broken/ repaired, but both still functioned as required. Overall a good place if you’re looking for a bed for the night and want a bit of room/privacy.

Great stay at Joes place. One of the comfiest beds I’ve ever slept on while traveling. It definitely was so nice to lay on after a long day of driving. The garage was a great addition if you have a car with you. Joe was extremely helpful in helping us secure street parking ahead of time for our uhaul which helped make our stressful move less so. The location is top notch. There is a restaurant LITERALLY next door if you get in super late as we did because it is open late! Would stay again if we were in the area.

Sooooo cute! The instructions for how to access the unit were helpful. It’s off a fairly busy street, so if you’re very sensitive to street noise, that may bother you if you’re staying on the sofa. If you’re in the back you’ll probably be fine. We aren’t sensitive to street sounds so it didn’t bother us at all. It also seemed to quiet down around 11 pm/midnight and stayed quiet through when we got up around around 8 am. We settled in quickly and loved how much thought was put into the unit to make sure we knew what to do when in the unit, how to access Hulu, etc. The water pressure was great in the bathroom, too. All in all, a cute place! Made us wish we had a little more time to spend in Columbus.

Nice place in great proximity to all the Short North has to offer. The garage is detached and I opted not to use because it's a bit tight in the alley, but Joe was very helpful explaining street parking so that worked just fine! Wonderful value for the area!

The house was in a great neighborhood, easy to get to, warm and welcoming. I enjoyed the ease and openness of the space, and Joe was very nice, accommodating, and quick to respond. I also enjoyed that I could walk to all kinds of eating places, downtown, & coffee shops. It is on a major street which is great for getting around but if you are sensitive to noise when sleeping, there is street noise. Didn't bother me at all but I'm not overly sensitive. Overall, great stay!

Was in town for the Sonic Temple music festival and it was the perfect location. Just left our car in the garage and walked, didn’t have to worry about traffic. Ordered carry out food from the place right next door and it was very good. Also the bed was super comfy!

Joe's place was a great place to stay for a night while we attended a concert downtown! It was only a 15 minute walk to downtown restaurants and the concert hall, and the car parking felt secure. His response rate was great, and he was super accommodating! There is street noise in the front, but as others have said, you can't hear anything from the bed, and the bed is SOOOO comfortable!!! Best sleep ever!

This property is on a fairly busy road so traffic noise can be heard early in the morning right through the day. The property itself was extremely clean but we were disappointed with no bedside tables. We also couldn’t open most of the blinds as the property does not have a side fence on one side and that side is directly next to a commercial business. No real privacy so to speak. It is close to the main city of Columbus but due to the actual location on a busy road and limited privacy I probably wouldn’t stay again. Mike & Joe were great hosts and communicated very well.

This house is perfect for someone who wants to be in close proximity to everything but still wants some quiet. The house is decorated minimalist but with very fun pieces. Love the blue velvet couch. I was only here for one night but having the garage to park in was key. This makes traveling around Columbus super easy and convenient. Would love to stay here again if I’m ever in the area.

Great place to stay if you want to avoid parking hassles and walk to events in the Short North/Victorian Village area. This residence has a one car garage! It is clean and well appointed. About the only caveat is that this is an old house undergoing renovation and as such there are no electrical outlets in the bathroom, so be prepared to do your hair in another room. But that is very minor. Enjoy all that this area of Columbus has to offer and stay here!

The property manager made sure we had free parking even though the garage door was broken, and the location - pleasant walk to the Short North Arts District through a pretty neighborhood - was excellent. House itself looked like a quick/cheap flip, but was totally functional. There is no access to the backyard from inside the house (for others traveling with a dog).

The place was perfect for the trip my son and I took for his birthday. It was in a perfect location, making it really easy to get to all the places we visited. The garage was. I’ve to have, especially since it was raining for two days. Inside, the place was clean and simply decorated. It had a modern feel, but was still comfortable enough to feel at home. They provided enough of what we needed, as far as towels and such, but also included some extras that were nice to see. I’ve never been to a place that offers multiple choices for soap and shampoo! The check-in process was super easy, as was the checkout. Overall, it was a great place for the short time we stayed there and would consider using it again if we return.

This place is absolutely a wonderful place to stay if you want to get a taste of short north, great location. I was able to park my car in the garage and leave it there. It was great to be able to sight see and not have to deal with the hassle of parking. We had a little trouble getting the garage door open but they responded quickly and fixed the problem. I had a nice time staying here. All rooms were very clean, and the bed was nice and comfortable. I'm really glad there was a space heater available in the bedroom closet because there was a cold streak during my visit. The location is great and totally walkable from many bars and restaurants. There is a garage around back for parking, although it's a bit snug. The only downside is that parking on the street isn't available overnight, unfortunately, and you need to pay during the day. Other than that, I had no trouble!

A little lack luster compared to other air bnb places we have stayed. However you are downtown Cbus and it’s pet friendly with a fenced in small yard. The bed was very comfy and squooshy. Which was great for sleeping. The house is on a very busy street. So, it's noisy in the morning but otherwise quiet. The lockbox was tricky to get into, but it was probably me. My fingers don't work sometimes especially after working for 12 hours. The shower was nice with plenty of hot water and pressure. If you're really tall, have no worries, a NBA player could take a shower and not have to duck. Not a bad place for a neighborhood that is up and coming.
